Maxon motor produces new applications in dentistry

Designers at maxon motor are applying their knowledge of producing high-tech ceramic components to new applications in dentistry. Maxon is making ceramic drill bits and ceramic dental implants. Ceramics are particularly good for medical and dental applications because the material is non-allergenic. Maxon ceramic components are not affected by extreme temperatures or chemical attack. They are great insulators, allowing neither heat nor electric current to be transmitted. Their low weight and anti-friction properties contribute to the efficiency of systems in which they are used.
