Raytheon to strengthen backbone

The US Air Force has awarded Raytheon a contract to upgrade the Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Integration Backbone (DIB), a global military intelligence network.

The DIB is a system that allows military analysts and intelligence communities to collaborate with each other around the world, allowing users with the appropriate security clearance to access a range of intelligence sources.

The DIB 1.2 updates include functions that allow the system to use RSS and email.

Raytheon first developed the DIB under the DCGS 10.2 contract for the air force, and has delivered more than 110 units of the software to the armed forces and intelligence community.
