Sweet deal on wheels

Air Berlin has awarded Honeywell’s Phoenix-based aerospace business a contract to retrofit wheels and brakes on its fleet of Boeing 737-700/800 aircraft.

‘When this retrofit is completed, Air Berlin will be the second largest fleet using Honeywell wheels and brakes worldwide,’ said Phil Jones, vice-president or Air Berlin’s Airlines in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

By the end of the program, Air Berlin is expected to have a total of 130 Boeing 737 aircraft in its fleet.

Honeywell has more than 75 years experience in the design and manufacturing of aircraft landing systems.
