A high-resolution thermal imaging camera from Ashtead Technology Rentals was used to film part of a new documentary series for National Geographic. Generals at War examine the freezing conditions experienced by soldiers during the battle of Stalingrad. The FLIR ThermaCAM P620 was used to film an experiment demonstrating the bitter temperatures experienced by soldiers during World War II. During filming temperatures dropped to -20C and the ThermaCAM showed the decrease in body heat of actors wearing reproduction uniforms. Photo Credit: ‘Generals at War’ © Windfall Films / Mike Coles
