Trams for Innsbruck

Bombardier Transportation and ELIN EBG Traction have received a $61 million order from the transport authority of Innsbruck, Austria, for the delivery of 22 trams.

(IVB) for the delivery of 22 Bombardier FLEXITY Outlook trams.

The total order is valued at approximately $61 million, with Bombardier’s share representing approximately $51 million. The contract includes an option for 10 additional low-floor vehicles of the same type.

The FLEXITY Outlook vehicles will be designed and manufactured at Bombardier’s site in Vienna, while the consortium partner, ELIN EBG Traction, will be responsible for the electrical equipment.

The FLEXITY tram for Innsbruck is based on a modular technology that features a low-floor interior while using conventional wheel-set bogies. The 27.6-metre long vehicles can carry up to 160 passengers, including 60 seated.

Transport authorities worldwide have already ordered over 1200 Bombardier FLEXITY trams and low-floor vehicles.
