Dutch company Yara Sluiskil has commissioned Uhde to design and build a urea plant at its production site in Sluiskil, near the third-biggest Dutch port city of Temeuzen.
The new plant is expected to have a capacity of 3,500 tonnes of urea solution a day, expanding Yara’s urea solution production capacity at the site for the production of ammonia and nitrogenous fertilisers.
Yara Sluiskil has invested €400m in the project, which includes modernisation of existing facilities such as the granulation unit, the liquid fertiliser unit and the steam system.
The urea plant will be based on a process licensed by Dutch-based Stamicarbon.
