The Shaw Group will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPCM) services for the 2,000 tonnes-per-year plant, which was established to manufacture and sell polysilicon for the solar market. The financial value of the contract was undisclosed.
The construction of the plant is scheduled for completion in May 2009.
Hoku Scientific is a clean energy technologies company with three business units, which also include Hoku Solar and Hoku Fuel Cells.
