Global energy group, Meggitt, has opened its first office in India following a contract award for full condition-monitoring systems at the 600MW Hissar power station in Haryana.
Building on this contract, the new office in Bangalore will be used as a platform to further market Meggitt’s sensing systems products for India’s coal-fired power plants, oil and gas installations and nuclear facilities.
According to Meggitt, these products allow maintenance to be planned more efficiently in order to improve the performance of machine tools and help reduce emissions.
Meggitt Sensing Systems’ energy business development director, Hitesh Shah, claims that its products provide complete control of the raw materials at the heart of its sensors, the process electronics and monitoring algorithms, and supporting equipment.
Shah said: ‘This means we can control cost and quality in a market where speed and value are fundamental to growth.
'Having direct relationships with customers on the ground also means that we can respond more quickly to what they want and innovate faster.’
