Vestas provides wind turbines

Vestas has received an order from Granite Reliable Power Windpark to supply 33 of its V90 3.0MW wind turbines for a new 99MW windfarm in New Hampshire that is majority owned by Noble Environmental Power.

The turbines will be delivered in the first half of 2011, with project commissioning expected in the second half of 2011.

The Granite Reliable Power Windpark, currently under development in Coos County, is the second - and largest - commercial-scale wind-power plant in the state.

The order also includes a two-year service and maintenance agreement.

Headquartered in Essex, Connecticut, Noble has 726MW of wind-power plants currently in operation in New York and Texas. It also has 1,900MW of wind-power projects in development across the US.

This is Vestas’ second major project in New England. Vestas supplied 22 of its V90 3.0MW turbines for the Kibby I project in Maine that went online in October 2009, and is currently installing an additional 22 V90 3.0MW units for Kibby II.

Commissioning is expected in the first half of 2010.
