BlackBerry users who subscribe to the newly available 

service will have to think of an excuse other than heavy traffic for being late.

TrafficTV is a Java application which offers live pictures from 500 CCTV cameras and information from Trafficmaster, covering 8,000 miles of the UK's main roads and motorways.

It can also display maps with colour coding depending on how long the expected delays are, allowing users to plan their journey accordingly or change routes while on the move.

T-Mobile said subscription to the service, available through its corporate licensing scheme, costs from 10p per day.
