AMEC expands in Chile

AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has announced that it is to acquire CADE-IDEPE, the largest independent Chilean engineering services company. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

CADE-IDEPE is based in Santiago, Chile, and provides engineering solutions for natural resources and power and process clients in Chile and South America. The deal will make AMEC the largest engineering firm in Chile.

‘We have enjoyed a long and profitable relationship with AMEC and we see opportunity to continue growing our domestic business and becoming more active in exporting our services internationally,’ said Lautaro, president of CADE-IDEPE.

‘CADE-IDEPE’s strong client relationships in Chile and the rest of South America will complement AMEC’s existing strength through its offices in Santiago and in Lima, Peru,’ said Tim Gelbar, president of AMEC’s Industrial Americas business. ‘Together we can grow more quickly, working on local and international projects and serving the global needs of our key clients.’
