Nuclear contract for AMEC

British Energy has awarded AMEC a five-year contract for engineering and project management services on three of its UK nuclear power plants.

Under the agreement, AMEC will provide its services at the Heysham site, north west of England and at Hartlepool on Teeside.

The contract, the value of which has not been disclosed, also carries an option for a further two years.

‘AMEC’s focus on safety, both nuclear and industrial, along with strong local support to our sites, was a key factor in their selection,’ said Alan Cumming, head of projects at British Energy.
