Safety strategy

Engineering and risk management consultancy, ESR Technology, has been awarded a contract by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to develop guidelines on the safety of ageing process plant.

The study, which began in September 2008, will run until mid-2009 and is hoped to improve assessment, intervention and enforcement strategies among industry regulators.
Phil Ramskill, ESR Technology’s project director, said: ‘ESR Technology is delighted to be working with the Health and Safety Executive in this whole area of ageing plant. This is a subject that is of great importance to industry as we look ahead to how best ensure asset integrity and the safe management of ageing plant across sectors.’
