ABB to supply process control system

ABB has won an order worth $62m from the German utility, E.ON-Kraftwerke to supply the complete process control system for a new high-efficiency power plant.
ABB will equip E.ON’s 1,100MW hard-coal-fired power plant, Datteln Unit4, with a power plant control system. According to ABB, the new plant located in
ABB's scope of supply comprises a System 800xA control installation, with boiler protection, and all instrumentation. This includes electrical actuators, which will be integrated into the process control system via a Profibus network.
ABB will also carry out the complete engineering, installation and commissioning. The order includes the option to deliver process control equipment for three similar power plants in the future.
