Aviatec has purchased a second Thompson friction welding machine

Danish engineering company, Aviatec, has purchased its second Thompson friction welding machine following a substantial increase in new business. The Thompson machine has been equipped with special 2 and 3 jaw chucks and tie-bars so that parts up to 3m in length can be friction welded.
It also features Thompson’s computerised system fir in-process weld monitoring and control. Thompson has also won more than £6 million worth of new business in Europe,
