According to a statement, ABB will provide the complete electrical scope for the extension of a gas-fired power and water plant under construction near the capital
The power station, designed to produce 550 megawatts of electricity and 40 million gallons of water from a desalination plant, will be operated for 25 years by Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation, known locally as Kahramaa.
The contract is scheduled to be completed next February, in time to meet peak demand for water and electricity during the Gulf state’s arid summer.?
