Edgecam demonstrates latest developments at Manufacturing Technology Ireland

The latest advances in EdgeCAM’s CNC offline programming technology will be demonstrated on stand 36 at Manufacturing Technology Ireland 2007, which takes place at the National Show Centre in Dublin on 7-8 November.

With an extensive range of 2-5 Axis milling, turning and mill/turn strategies, seamless CAD integration and sophisticated automation tools, EdgeCAM is a complete CAM software solution for production machining and mould & die applications.

Developments to be showcased by EdgeCAM include its latest software release, Version 12, which expands on the system’s 5-axis machining capabilities and delivers improved CAD data management, faster toolpath generation and new options for hole cycle optimisation.

Further enhancements offer faster toolpath generation for prismatic and 3D geometry, improved accuracy, increased tool life and greatly reduced CNC file size. In addition, new toolpath control options enable cycle times and air cuts to be minimised.

Expanded into both turning and mill/turn environments, EdgeCAM Strategy Manager allows more processes to be automated, enabling design intent to direct the manufacturing environment. Furthermore, when used in conjunction with the EdgeCAM Part Modeler, surface finish can be employed to control optimum feed, speed and depth of cut.
