SMTCL and EdgeCAM Establish Strategic Partner Relationship

25 October 2007: Shenyang Machine Tool (Group) Co. Ltd (SMTCL) and EdgeCAM, a Planit Metals company, have signed a strategic partnership agreement through which SMTCL recognises EdgeCAM as its globally preferred CAM solution to support its comprehensive range of metal cutting machine tools.
As supplier to the automobile, military, aerospace and railway industries, SMTCL continually strives to provide leading technology solutions to customers. As part of this expanding service, SMTCL investigated CAM software, seeking an optimum solution to complement its range of machine tools. After an exhaustive search, SMTCL decided that EdgeCAM not only offered best functionality but also high levels of support both in China and globally.
“We are continually aiming to increase our machine tool market share and are now focusing on complementary products and services to improve our customers’ manufacturing processes,” says Mr Liu, executive director of the SMTCL Design and Research Institute. “The high levels of functionality, ease of use and powerful programming ability of EdgeCAM will satisfy our customers’ requirements in CNC programming especially with respect to our new advanced mill/turn, multi-axis and five axis machine tools. This partnership will also benefit SMTCL in new research opportunities and joint promotions.”
