GE partners SPT

GE Oil and Gas will integrate some of its technologies with oil and gas industry software developer SPT Group as part of a new business agreement.
SPT Group provides online flow assurance technology designed to improve flow regularity over the life of the oil and gas field.
Such online flow assurance technology will be integrated into GE’s new remote access data hub called SmartCenter. The facility, located in Nailsea, will offer remote assistance and services to oil and gas fields at every stage of development.
‘The oil and gas industry is increasingly focused on remote operations and digital oilfield solutions,’ said Dean Arnison, controls and informatics director, GE Oil and Gas. ‘This new cooperation between GE Oil and Gas and SPT Group builds on unrivalled expertise in subsea control systems and online flow assurance technology to fulfil a key part of an e-field infrastructure.’
GE Oil and Gas believes such technology will become more necessary as the world’s oil and gas field developments move to harsher, deeper environments and the need for a more refined insight into the operation of subsea production systems increases. The company believes joining forces with SPT Group will result in more innovative products to meet these challenges and optimise production.
