Kuwait’s ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company has purchased 10 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, valued at $1.62bn at list prices.

ALAFCO signed off on the purchase with Boeing at Seattle’s Harbor Club in Everett, Washington.

Sharia-based ALAFCO ordered 12 787s from Boeing in March, and has successfully placed its first 12 787s with Kuwait Airways.

Since its launch in April 2004, Boeing has sold 652 units of the 787 Dreamliner, and the first flight is scheduled for later this year, and delivery in May 2008.
