Industrial Campus for imaging
Royal Philips Electronics has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Suzhou Municipal Government to establish an Industrial Campus for imaging systems in China.
The 62,000m2campus will integrate facilities for research and development, manufacturing, assembly and sourcing on one site. The facilities are expected to help develop 64-slice CT and 1.5T MR machines for China’s provincial and city-level hospitals, as well as X-Ray equipment for mid-sized hospitals.
The development will help these hospitals to upgrade their equipment and provide more efficient patient care.
Steve Rusckowski, chief executive of Philips Healthcare, said: ‘This investment will further enhance our presence in healthcare in China, adding to our joint venture with Neusoft and the recently acquired company, Shenzhen Goldway.
‘We are now better positioned to help improve the accessibility and affordability of healthcare services in China, with a complete product portfolio that serves both the market requirements for the value segment as well as more advanced, specialised applications.’
