Can you tell us a bit about your current STEM role, what motivated you to be in your current position, and can you tell us about some of the projects you are currently involved in?

I currently serve as a corporate strategist at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), where I co-founded the Strategic Foresight team. This initiative helps define the company’s long-term vision through trend anticipation and global strategy.

Growing up in Malaysia, my journey into engineering began at the age of eight when I dismantled a Walkman out of sheer curiosity. That spark continued in secondary school when I built a circuit board in Life Skills class, an experience that crystallised my passion for problem-solving and systems thinking.

When I was offered full scholarships to study abroad, choosing engineering over medicine to study in the UK was a culturally challenging decision, but it was the right one for me.

Today, I lead forward-looking projects that span electrification, autonomous systems, and digital innovation. One of my proudest achievements is shaping JLR’s 2035 product portfolio by incorporating insights from my Malaysian heritage and global experience to inform decisions at the board level. It’s not just about designing cars; it’s about designing a sustainable, inclusive future for mobility.
