INWED 2025 Profile: Naval architect Ellie Driver
Ellie Driver’s career as a Naval Architect at SR Structures reflects her passion for pushing the boundaries of maritime innovation while inspiring the next generation of women in STEM.

Can you tell us a bit about your current STEM role, what motivated you to be in your current position, and can you tell us about some of the projects you are currently involved in?
I work as a naval architect at SR Structures, where I design cutting-edge components for high-performance racing boats. This role is a dream come true as it perfectly blends my passions for engineering and sailing - two worlds that have always been central to my life.
Right now, I’m involved in projects that are advancing the boundaries of offshore racing technology, combining technical expertise with innovation to help boats perform at their peak. It’s incredibly rewarding to contribute to these exciting developments while also chasing my own offshore racing dreams.
I hope to inspire young women to see engineering in a new light, so not just as technical problem-solving, but also as a field that demands creativity, collaboration, and vision. By sharing my journey, I want to encourage more women to step into STEM and explore its amazing potential for innovation and personal growth.
