Korea knocks at Petrofac's door

SPD, the well engineering business of London-based Petrofac, has been awarded a long-term contract by the Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) for drilling management support services.
The contract, the financial details of which were undisclosed, covers onshore and offshore operations in areas including Canada, Kamchatka, Kazakhstan, Korea, Nigeria and Yemen.
Huw Lumley, SPD’s business development manager, said: ‘This contract goes beyond simply providing drilling management services and encompasses formal and informal training for KNOC personnel over an extended period.’
SPD was established in Dubai in September 2002.
