A high-performance, microstepping driver for controlling two and four-phase stepper motors has been introduced by Astrosyn International Technology. The low cost P402 features an advanced bipolar constant-current chopper circuit with current control technology. Able to drive four, six or eight lead motors, the RoHS compliant unit offers 14 step resolutions up to 25 600 steps/revolution. Drive current is adjustable from a relatively low 0.25 A through to 2.0 A, with supply voltage from 14 to 40 Vdc.
