Siemens Power Generation has received four major orders to supply wind turbines and steam turbines for new power plants in Spain.

Siemens Power Generation has received four major orders to supply both wind turbines and steam turbines for new power plants in Spain.

For its part, Spain’s largest construction company Actividades de Construccion y Servicios (ACS), has ordered 50 wind turbines with a capacity of 2.3MW each, which will be erected in four separate wind farms in Andalucía. The Siemens contract with ACS also includes the supply, transport, and the installation of the turbines, as well as a five year service contract. Delivery of the wind turbines from Brande, Denmark, is scheduled to begin in February 2008.

ACS has also ordered an SST-700 industrial steam turbine for a solar-thermal power plant called Extresol I which will be built in southern Spain.

Additionally, Siemens will supply its SST-700 steam turbine to two further solar-thermal power plants in Spain. Customers are the Spanish energy company Iberdrola and Solel Solar Systems of Israel.
