Siemens to build wind farm
Nordic Generation has awarded Siemens Power Generation a contract for the construction of the largest offshore wind farm in Sweden.

. Financial details have not been released.
The Lillgrund wind farm will be based in Öresund near Malmö. It will have a 110MW capacity, enough to meet the electricity demand of approximately 60,000 Swedish households. It is scheduled to start commercial operation in late 2007.
Siemens has constructed a number of wind farms, including the world’s largest, the Nysted offshore wind farm in
Siemens PG will supply and install 48 of its 2.3MW Mk II wind turbines. The project scope includes turbine delivery, electrical infrastructure, installation and a five-year service and maintenance agreement. Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution will provide equipment for the project’s offshore transformer station.
