Siemens has received an order from SeaScape Energy to supply of 25 wind turbines for the offshore wind farm in Liverpool Bay.

Siemens has received an order from SeaScape Energy to supply of 25 wind turbines for the offshore wind farm in Liverpool Bay on the west coast of England.

For the “Burbo Banks offshore” wind farm, which is jointly owned by Elsam, Denmark and EDF Energies Nouvelles, Siemens will install 25 wind turbines each rated at 3.6MW.

The 90MW total capacity of the wind farm will be sufficient to supply electricity to about 75,000 households.

The construction phase will start in the spring of 2006 with completion scheduled for the autumn of 2007.

The order is worth more than 90 million Euros.
