SMART cars for Iceland

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide has been awarded a contract to supply 10 hydrogen hybrid cars to VistOrka for use in
Ten Toyota Prius vehicles will be provided for the SMART-H2 project, in which VistOrka’s role includes leading the steering committee, financing its management, subsidising hydrogen vehicles, and providing support for all parts of the project.
The first stage of the project is to introduce hydrogen-powered vehicles to potential customers, who will buy or lease the vehicles from VistOrka. The first customers will be energy companies, investment funds and Hertz car rental service.
The next stage of the project will see more hydrogen vehicles introduced into the market from 2008 to 2009.
