Scott Bader has introduced a new styrene acrylic copolymer designed for use in high performance anti-corrosion applications. Called Texicryl 13-600, the product is alkyl phenol ethoxylate free, and is possibly the first water-based primer of this type to achieve a 500 hours salt spray resistance standard, based on a 50 microns single coat dry film thickness on steel when applied to clean, well prepared surfaces. Texicryl is also resistant to discolouring in high humidity conditions and can withstand higher temperatures than certain competitive chemistries.
