Cascade Wind Acquisition, an affiliate of Cannon Power, the San Diego-based wind project developer, has ordered 130 2.3MW wind turbines from Siemens Energy for two wind farms in the US.
Siemens will supply 72 wind turbines for the Windy Point wind farm and 58 for the Windy Flats wind farm near Goldendale, Washington.
With an installed capacity of nearly 300MW, the turbines have the potential to provide clean power to approximately 90,000 households in the Pacific Northwest.
Siemens will deliver, install and commission the SWT-2.3-93 wind turbines. Commissioning is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2008 and continue through August 2009.
In addition to installing and commissioning the wind turbines, Siemens will also provide service and maintenance for two years.
