’s

for the construction of a turnkey combined cycle power plant with a capacity of 1,100 Megawatts (MW).

The €400 million SUGEN power plant will be located in Akhakhol in Gujarat Province, approximately 300 kilometres north of Mumbai. The natural gas-fired power plant will comprise three units and is the second turnkey project that Siemens PG will have implemented for Torrent Power Generation.

The Siemens PG scope of supply will encompass three gas turbines, three steam turbines and three generators. The company will also supply the plant’s electrical and I&C systems. Commissioning of the first unit is scheduled for 2007.

”To meet the country’s rapidly growing power demand the Indian government is planning an ambitious expansion program,” commented Klaus Voges, President of Siemens Power Generation. “By 2012, new power plants with a combined capacity of 100,000 MW are to be built.”
