Power contracts for PG

The Siemens Power Generation (PG) Group has secured an order to supply the main components for a combined cycle power plant in Bergamo, Italy. The purchaser is Dalmine Tenaris, which is part of the international Tenaris Group.

PG also announced today that it has been awarded an order to supply four gas turbines for an industrial power plant in Saudi Arabia. The combined order is worth approximately $120 million.

For Dalmine Tenaris, Siemens PG, in a consortium with the Milan-based Italian company Macchi Steam, is to supply two natural-gas-fired gas turbines each rated at 45 megawatts (MW) and one 41-MW steam turbine. Macchi Steam will manufacture the two heat-recovery steam generators for the gas turbines. The power plant, which will generate 120 MW of electricity and 11 MW of district heat, is scheduled to begin commercial operation in February 2007.

From Yamama Saudi Cement, Saudi Arabia’s largest cement producer, Siemens has secured a follow-up order for four 25-MW gas turbines to be installed in an industrial power plant. The new plant, which is slated to come on line in the autumn of 2005, will replace an old diesel-fired power plant and provide power for a cement production plant in Riyadh.
