Power plant support

GE Energy has announced new agreements with China to maintain and service two power plants in the Zhejiang Province.

The contracts, worth more than $128m (£90m), are aimed at supporting China’s environmental ambitions and will see GE provide maintenance and inspection services for two GE 9FA gas turbines at the 795.6MW Zhejiang Zheneng Zhenhai Power Plant in Ningbo.

The group also has a long-term contract with the Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company to handle parts, repairs and services for two GE 9Es in the Fujian Province. The facility operates a refinery with a capacity of four million tons per year using integrated gasification combined cycle technology.

Jack Wen, president and chief executive of GE Energy China, said: ‘GE has provided world-leading technology and equipment in China for decades. We are proud to continue this support to help China meet its energy demands and increase efficiency.

‘These CSAs represent the latest in a series of service and maintenance agreements designed to improve efficiency, output and reliability of our gas turbines at Fujian and Zhejiang Zheneng Zhenhai‘s power plants.’

GE Energy has been active in China for almost 100 years and currently has six manufacturing sites based in Shenyang, Shanghai, Qinhungdao and Hangzhou.
