Warthog bushes

Nottinghamshire polymer-component manufacturer, Icon Polymer, has secured a contract to supply the torsion bushes for the running gear of Warthog Bronco all-terrain vehicles.

The contract follows the Ministry of Defence’s order for more than 100 Warthog tracked carriers from Singapore Technologies Kinetics for use in Afghanistan.

Icon Polymer’s director of sales, John Greaves, said: ‘We have an excellent record in producing safety and mission-critical components for defence applications and we have won this order because we have been able to demonstrate the high performance and durability of our components.’

The group, the products of which range from aerodynamic seals and air-to-air refuelling, also recently won a three-year contract to supply the rubber moulding for 14,000 Warrior fighting vehicles.
