Clyde Bergemann Doncaster (CBD) UK has secured a £26m contract - the largest materials handling contract in the firm’s 34-year history.
The company, in partnership with colleagues in Australia, won the contract to provide an ash handling and a high concentration slurry discharge system for the Eraring Energy coal fired Power Station located near Sydney, New South Wales.
CBD clinched the deal following financial support from South Yorkshire International Trade Centre (SYITC) via the Targeted Export Support Scheme (TESS).
CBD has an extensive overseas operations, which has also received support from SYITC. The company recently secured new sales of £11.7m in Spain, £8.3m in Italy and is also confident of a potential order worth £10m in Russia. The Doncaster firm is also working with the UKTI's High Growth Market Specialists pursuing an opportunity in Vietnam.
In an unrelated move, CBD recently acquired Australian-based Senior Thermal Engineering, which provides fuel economisers, specialised heat exchange products, boiler cleaning systems and materials handling solutions to the boiler and steam raising industry.
