Opening of India's second Calibration Facility: Mr. Ramphal Nehra, TATA Cummins Ltd & Mr. Sadanand Patil, DVP- Business Development , AMETEK Instruments India
AMETEK Land has opened a new service and calibration facility at Jamshedpur, India, to service its customers in the north, east and central areas of India. With this opening, AMETEK Land now has two calibration centres in India with the other located in Bangalore in the south.
The new Jamshedpur facility will calibrate instrumentation in the laboratory for temperature ranges from 50° to 1500 °C and on site from 0° to 1,200 °C. The calibration of an instrument at one of AMETEK Land’s centres in India helps to ensure continued compliance of an instrument with a traceable certification. It also provides the user with a better insight into an instrument’s long-term performance, aiding process stability, which can improve the quality of results and potentially minimise expenses.
“We are really proud to open a second service and calibration centre in India,” explains Prasath Venkatasamy, National Service Manager for AMETEK Land in India. “We now have held NABL† accreditation in India for three years, and this new centre allows us to further expand our services and offer greater convenience to our customers. Temperature measurement instruments need to be calibrated periodically to ensure their accuracy and maintain the highest quality performance standards. The new Jamshedpur centre means we will be better able to service our customers in the Northern and Eastern regions and beyond.”
In addition to calibration, AMETEK Land offers a range of other services to help companies ensure they are maintaining the accuracy of their temperature measurements. AMECare Service Contracts, for example, allow customers to optimise the performance and maximise uptime of their temperature measurement instrumentation. These service contracts are designed specifically to ensure that instruments are professionally maintained and calibrated to operate at peak factory performance levels throughout their lifetimes.
AMETEK Land established its first laboratory in India in 2012, when it began calibration and repair operations. It was the first original equipment manufacturer approved to receive NABL accreditation, which it achieved in an impressively short time frame. The laboratory is accredited to offer thermal calibration in the range of 0° to 1600 °C for tests carried out in-house and 0° to 1200 °C for on-site calibrations.
AMETEK Land India provides a full service offering that encompasses testing, repairs and recalibration, which can be done at either its customers’ locations or at its Bangalore or Jamshedpur locations. In addition to NABL accreditation, AMETEK Land’s laboratories are accredited to ISO 9001, giving customers greater confidence in AMETEK Land's ability to support them fully over the lifespans of their products.
AMETEK Land serves many industries, including metals, glass, HPI and power. It is recognized worldwide for the accuracy of its non-contact temperature measurement instruments along with its ability to certify against the ISO / IEC 17025: 2005 standard as approved by national accreditation bodies in the United Kingdom, United States and India.

I'd like to know where these are operating in the UK. The report is notably light on this. I wonder why?
