Software security vendor Symantec is to buy WholeSecurity, a provider of behaviour-based anti-phishing software.
Whole Security's software is used to analyse the characteristics and actions of viruses, worms and other malicious code, offering PC users real-time protection against the threats without the need for security signatures.
The software is expected to become a core component of Symantec's baseline consumer security and enterprise desktop solutions.
The deal is expected to close in October.
