BT secures Airbus WAN

BT has extended its contract with Airbus in the UK to manage and run the company’s securely encrypted wide area network (WAN).
The fully managed WAN – used by Airbus to run its supply chain management and logistics computer systems – covers 22 UK sites, including Filton, near Bristol and Broughton in North Wales.
Building on an existing contract with Airbus, BT’s WAN managed service will help Airbus securely share information internally between key departments, as well as externally with key suppliers.
Laurie Bowen, managing director, Commercial and Brands, BT Global Services UK, said: ‘We are delighted to provide Airbus in the UK with intelligent and secure networks to help them share critical information between departments and suppliers. We look forward to extending our relationship with Airbus, to help them build a technology roadmap for the future.’
