AMEC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hindustan Construction Company Limited (HCC) to support the development of new civil nuclear projects in India.
India is the sixth largest electricity-generating country with a total installed capacity of about 100,000MW, 2.5 per cent of which is contributed by its nuclear sector.
India’s government plans to enhance its current installed nuclear power capacity to 20,000MW by 2020 and to 63,000MW by 2032.
