Marking Silicon Carbide
Silicon carbide, often used for grinding and machining applications, is pretty tough stuff! This application required that a permanent engraved mark be produced, without causing local mechanical weakening of the part. The laser ablates the material, leaving a clean engraved mark to the required depth.
