The new AMI series induction motors from ABB, ranging from 500 to 11,000 kW, has a modular construction, enabling tailoring to specific applications, including the harsh environments in industries such as oil and gas exploration, chemical manufacturing and metals processing. The motors are constructed using a series of modular building blocks to provide a complete range of enclosures and cooling arrangements. This enables each AMI series motor to be delivered at a cost typical of off-the-shelf units.
