Siemens expands Jundiaí site
Siemens has opened the largest South American power technology plant to date in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. Investment in the expansion of the Jundiaí manufacturing site amount to €75m.

. Investment in the expansion of the Jundiaí manufacturing site amounts to €75m.
The Siemens Power Generation Group (PG) and the Power Transmission and Distribution Group (PTD) are consolidating their Brazilian production facilities in one site that covers an area of 52,000 square metres.
In Jundiaí, 1400 employees produce transformers, industrial steam turbines rated up to 100MW, as well as high-voltage and medium-voltage products and systems for power transmission and distribution.
In addition, the site houses the largest transformer-testing centre on the South American continent.
‘With the expansion of the plant in Jundiaí, Siemens is strengthening its leading role in the energy sector and highlighting its commitment to job creation and local value added in Brazil,’ said Adilson Primo, President of Siemens’s national company in Brazil. ‘Siemens is now optimally prepared to satisfy Brazil’s demands for energy technology. At the same time, the plant serves as a platform for exports to the entire world.’
