The National Centre of Tribology Celebrates 40th Anniversary
UK centre of excellence for tribology has been solving friction, lubrication and wear problems for organisations since the late 1960s
Warrington, UK. ESR Technology, one of the UK’s leading engineering, safety and risk management consultancies, today announced that its National Centre of Tribology (NCT) is celebrating its 40th year of operation solving industrial engineering problems for organisations all over the world.
Tribology is the science and technology of interacting surfaces in relative motion. It includes the important engineering sciences of lubrication, friction and wear that impact on the efficiency, reliability and performance of many industrial machines and processes.
Operating within ESR Technology, the NCT has been the UK’s focus for expertise in this area since 1968, supporting industry through the provision of a wide range of independent consultancy and problem solving services.
“The NCT has produced in excess of 3,000 industrial reports since its formation,” said Steve Gill, General Manager of the NCT. “We have worked in every sphere of human activity from deep sea to deep space and pretty much everything in between.”
